Total Eclipse of the Heart performer: Bonnie Tyler composer: Jim Steinman lyrics: Jim Steinman Jim Steinman寫了很多歌給Meat Loaf唱, 原本有兩首歌也準備要給他的, 但因財政關係Meat Loaf沒有買到. 結果這兩首歌就分別到了一位歌手和一隊樂隊手. 今次介紹的Total Eclipse of The Heart由Bonnie Tyler所唱, 而另一首Making Love Out of Nothing At All則給了澳洲的 Air Supply. 怪不得這兩首差不多同期的超流行曲那麼相似, 原來有這麼的一段淵源. 這首歌是收錄在1983年Tyler的Faster Than the Speed of Night大碟, 歌曲長達6:56. 後來有另一剪輯過的4:30版本, 就是今日播給你和在收音機通常會聽到的版本. Bonnie Tyler也因為這首歌創出一個記錄: 它是第一首由女歌手唱的歌曲打進了UK Chart的No. 1, 之前只有組合和男歌手的歌. 那是1983年的事, 可見之前英國歌壇還是有些保守.
